Elizabeth and the Flowers and time (as I ready to leave the UK)

It's wash day and as I wait for cycles to finish I'm watching some great old British films - Jungle Book2 ,  one of the Carry On movies (my favorite  as I might be looking for a job) and  Jane Eyre  with Elizabeth Taylor, who shows up 3:30 min. into this clip.

Her character, Helen Burns, and Jane Eyre have to march in circles in a rainy, dark courtyard wearing placards, one says "vain" and the other "rebellious". Ah, for the good ole days of discipline. Taylor's character is so brief in this movie she doesn't show up in credits at the end of the film.

She had a long career.  My favorite role she played was Martha in Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf .   Her first line in this clip is what Mara, John, and David must have thought when the took on my hodge podge garage.

I came back to Glasgow from North Country Whisky Trail trip to find Spring.  The black thing in the middle is a big bumble bee who refused to pose for me.

These are beginning attempts at showing how good it felt to be back in beautiful Glasgow.

I came here with the crocuses just popping out of the grass, but most are gone now.  New flowers take their place.  I will miss Elizabeth.  I will miss the beauty of the people and whisky of Scotland. I will miss my daughter, Anne and the good Doctor, Mark.

I will not miss that fucking one mile walk up hill back to my apartment...maybe.

WHISKY AND FISH mmm-mm good

Been away on a walk for a few days.

I finished the whisky walk of Glasgow, attending all the 6 official Malt Whisky bars of Glasgow. One bar was kind enough to share its photo gallery with me.  It took two drams to get through it.

Below, I captured some of the images.

Dr. Mark Mac. and I were in the last one on the list, near the end of Anne's workday yesterday.

She met us there, walked to another bar near our dinner spot.

As hunger grew, we entered a packed place at 7 pm.  A narrow, hip spot that served the best crab cakes and scallops I have had.  The name- "The Crabshakk". (watch out, Joe's Crab Shack near the I-5 bridge, WA side)

We also had a tasty mackerel pâté with oatcakes.

BELOW ARE THE TINY FISH

(ONLY FOR THOSE WHO CRAVE MORE OMEGA 3 OILS)

Deep fried whitebait
with lemon mayo 6.95   A strong, oily, fishy TASTE, BUT A FAVORITE OF DR. MARK'S.  HE SAYS THE NEW ZEALAND ONES ARE SO MUCH BETTER.  THEY LOOK LIKE BABY SMELT, ~ 1.5 INCHES LONG, LIGHT BATTER, DEEP FRIED WHOLE

THE SCOTCH THAT STARTED IT ALL.
